B. Physiotherapy (hons)
Research Associate – Monash Musculoskeletal Research Unit (MMRU)
Liam studied Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University in Albury, where he graduated with Class 1 Honours in lower limb biomechanics and joint stability. Since then, Liam has worked in a sports medicine clinic, has been head physio of a multi-disciplinary clinic in Seaford, and now is the director of Peninsula Performance Physio.
Liam has a personal understanding of managing pain and injury, having sustained his own long list of injuries through his love of sport and exercise. Liam grew up in Wagga Wagga in NSW, so naturally played rugby league and union until settling in Melbourne. Since then, Liam has been heavily involved in strength sports, competing in both CrossFit and Weightlifting which have become a huge passion. Outside of work Liam spends his weekends with his young family and Blue Heeler 'Diego', paddleboarding, drinking a lot of coffee, and of course getting in some exercise!
Liam has also been active in physiotherapy research with Monash University, focusing primarily on the management of knee injuries and tendon pain (tendinopathy) through strengthening and motor control rehab. He has presented his research internationally at the 2019 International Society of Biomechanics (ISB) conference in Canada, as well as having his work presented at the 2019 and 2022 Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) Conferences. He has multiple publications in reputable scientific journals which can be found in the research page under the 'Physio' tab.
